For this assignment I downloaded Opera as the alternative broswer I could use since funny enough, while looking I saw a Youtube ad for it by a famous Youtuber. Based on the features they showed off, I decided to give it a try.
When you first boot Opera up, it gives you a lot of tutorials on how to use it, and it's also very customizable. It has the color scheme of many dark colored PC builds, from black and red, to black and violet. Then, you get to customize the apps you can use in the browser, like Whatsapp, Instagram, Discord, and Messenger. It's a really neat feature.
Having used Opera GX for a bit, it seems like the broswer was designed to be a browser for PC Gamers/Gamers. When you first boot it up, the home page is a list of games you can check out and play on your PC, or if you own any of the current consoles, buy it and play it on that. It also has a GPU and RAM and network limiter to make sure you don't over do it while playing. The creators of this browser are Opera Software, and I do believe that given it's appeal to gamers Opera would update it frequently to suit their needs. I noticed on opening there is a button to click on to provide feedback at the very top, but aside from giving it a thumbs up/down and writing down what you liked/disliked there isn't much to it.
I feel like one major advantage that Opera GX has over other browsers is the the GPU, RAM, and Network Limiters would help the computer's performance in the long run since I know that Chrome eats up a lot of RAM. However it's disadvantage is the fact that it's for Gaming and not general use, so people who would do business wouldn't be the ones using it.
